from skagen to gothenburg

Inspiration from history

We have drawn inspiration from the maritime history and connection between Skagen and Gothenburg, and the trade links between Denmark and Sweden. Skagen, located at the northern tip of Jutland in Denmark, is an important harbour town and a well-known fishing village with a long tradition of shipping and fishing. Its geographical location at the entrance to the Skagerrak and Kattegat has made it a strategic location for trade and transport.

Gothenburg, on the other hand, is a major port city and the second largest city in Sweden. Gothenburg has historically had strong links with Denmark and the rest of the world through trade and shipping. Boat traffic between Gothenburg and Skagen has been an important sea route for the transport of goods and passengers between the two countries.

This link between Skagen and Gothenburg as trading and shipping destinations has contributed to the development of cultural and economic ties between the regions. Both Skagen and Gothenburg have been influenced and enriched by maritime history and the exchange of goods, ideas and people across the sea, which is why we chose the name Skagen. Our goal is to create a neighbourhood where people meet and where knowledge and stories are exchanged with each other. Skagen is a place where everyone is welcome and we strive to create an inclusive and communal atmosphere.
