Already today, Kvillepiren has started to be populated by Gothenburgers through the well-attended sauna and the surrounding area. The fully developed proposal will make the pier accessible to a larger number of people and the pier will be populated during almost all hours of the day.
With several hundred studios and the Jubilee Park with several options for swimming, the area will be attractive and lively. An obvious place to hang out with proximity to the centre and a good relationship to the water.

The neighbourhood has taken many forms before it landed in the final design. The units are inspired by the harbour and its industrialism. The units flirt a little with harbour containers in their expression, but there is a tactility in the wood material and a playfulness in the vibrant colour that softens the design.

A sustainable goal is to choose to live smaller and gather more people in the same place. The units are compact but efficient and the density allows for shared facilities such as bicycle stations, a mobile and automated grocery store, etc. Another sustainable element is that only a few parking spaces are located in the area. It will be easy to get there by public transport or by bike. The units are built with a wooden frame and façade, a renewable material that we are happy to use.

A nice detail is the rather spacious lofts. By raising the bed area with a slightly lower ceiling height, the space underneath is freed up, which makes the whole plan more efficient. The high window section in the facade gives light to the loft and when you lie in your bed you get a view of the area. This means a nice view of the water for many of the different studio types.
